You can complete your miles through any movement that works for you, including but not limited to running, swimming, cycling, hiking, walking. If you are moving, you are racing. The goal is to complete the race distance at your pace, fitness level, and make the miles your own.

You can complete a virtual race outside, on a treadmill, around your neighborhood, at a local park, or anywhere that works for you.

Race packages may include items like a finisher medal, race bib, and race apparel, depending on the race you choose.

Yes. For many Gone For a Run virtual races, a portion of the registration fee is donated to a designated charity, so your miles help support a meaningful cause.

No. You can start completing and logging your miles whenever you are ready. You do not need to wait for your race package to arrive. It is your race, on your own time.

Yes. You will receive the complete package associated with the race option you selected. For challenges that include milestone tokens or charms, you will receive them with your initial package so they are ready to add to your medal as you accomplish your goals.

It depends on the race package you select. If your race is a distance challenge that includes milestone tokens or charms, they will be included in your initial race package. You can add each one to your medal as you reach the corresponding milestone.
How to Track & Submit Your Miles

To log your results, find the Enter My Time button within the Virtual Races section of our website. On desktop, hover over Virtual Races in the top navigation menu. On mobile, open the menu and select Virtual Races. Once in the Enter My Time collection, choose your race, click Enter My Time and then sign in to your account or continue as a guest. From there, you can manually enter your results or upload an activity through one of our partners, including Strava, Fitbit, or Garmin.

No. You can sign in to your account or continue as a guest when submitting your miles or race time.

On the virtual race entry page, choose the service you want to connect: Strava, Fitbit, or Garmin. Follow the prompts to log in and connect your account. For your activities to show up, make sure historical events are turned on and that the specific activities you want to log are set to share with everyone. Once your activity populates, select it and submit your entry. Be sure to use the same email address every time you log miles so all of your entries count toward your total.

Yes. When entering your results manually, you can submit your distance and the time it took you to complete those miles.

Entering your miles in bulk means manually submitting the total distance you have completed and the total amount of time it took you to complete those miles. For example, if you completed several activities but have not entered them yet, you can manually enter your combined distance and completion time as one entry.

No. Bulk entries can only be submitted manually. When uploading activities through Strava, Fitbit, or Garmin, each individual activity must be uploaded as its own entry.

Yes. You can submit multiple activities over time. Your first submission will appear as your starting entry, and each additional submission will be added to your accumulated mileage total.

Please make sure you use the same email address each time you submit your results. This allows your additional miles to be added to your accumulated total instead of creating a separate entry.

Anyone can submit their results on the Race Recap Page, even if they did not personally purchase the race. Your friend can click the Enter My Time button, sign in or continue as a guest, and enter their own miles or race time.

Use the search bar on the Race Recap Page to look up your name. This will pull up your entry so you can easily view your submitted activities and track your progress.

Entries are automatically sorted based on the date of each participant’s first submitted activity. If you do not immediately see your name, you can use the search feature to quickly find your entry.

Your Race Recap Page entry will show your display name, activity of choice, total accumulated miles, the number of entries you have submitted, the date range of your activities, your average pace, your total time, and you can add any comments about the event.

Snap a photo with your medal or race swag, post it on social, and tag us. You can also send it to us for a chance to be featured on the race recap page.
