ATTENTION: ChalkTalkSPORTS.com, GoneForaRun.com and LuLaLax.com are each a wholly-owned entity of ChalkTalk SPORTS, Inc. ("ChalkTalk SPORTS"). The Gone For A Run virtual race program, including the Virtual Race Recap page, is operated by ChalkTalk SPORTS, Inc. and is hosted on chalktalksports.com. All references to "GoneForaRun," "GFAR," "Gone For A Run," "ChalkTalk SPORTS," and "we" in this disclosure refer to ChalkTalk SPORTS, Inc. and its wholly-owned entities. By registering for a GFAR Virtual Race on any of ChalkTalk SPORTS' websites, you are transacting with ChalkTalk SPORTS, Inc., and this disclosure is part of the Terms and Conditions of Use that govern your use of those websites.
OVERVIEW
Registering for a Gone For A Run Virtual Race constitutes a purchase of a race package through chalktalksports.com. As with any ecommerce transaction on ChalkTalk SPORTS' websites, standard order and account information is collected at the time of purchase. This information is used solely for transaction and fulfillment purposes and is never displayed publicly. Please refer to the ChalkTalk SPORTS Terms and Conditions of Use and Privacy Policy for details on how purchase and account data is handled.
Separately, when you return to the Virtual Race Recap page to submit your race result, additional information is collected at that time and displayed publicly on the leaderboard. This disclosure specifically addresses that data — what is collected at the time of race result submission, how it is used, and how it is displayed.
DATA COLLECTED AND DISPLAYED
PARTICIPANT NAME. Your name, as submitted with your race result, is displayed publicly on the Virtual Race Recap leaderboard. It is visible to all visitors of the page, including non-registered users. This allows participants to identify themselves and be identified by others in the race results.
DATE OF BIRTH. Your date of birth, if provided, is used solely to calculate your age group for filtering purposes on the Virtual Race Recap page. It is not displayed on your individual result row visible to other users. By submitting your race result and providing your date of birth, you consent to this use.
GENDER. Your gender, if provided, is used solely to power the gender group filter on the Virtual Race Recap page. It is not displayed on your individual result row visible to other users. By submitting your race result and providing your gender, you consent to this use.
RACE PERFORMANCE DATA. The following performance data submitted with your race result is displayed publicly on the Virtual Race Recap leaderboard alongside your name: finish time; distance completed; pace per mile and per kilometer; activity type (e.g., run, walk); race start date and end date; personal best indicator; total race count; and any notes submitted with your result. This data is the core purpose of the Virtual Race Recap page and is displayed publicly by design to enable participants to view and compare race results.
PURPOSE OF DATA DISPLAY
The data described above is collected and displayed for the following purposes: to provide participants with a public record of their virtual race performance; to enable participants to compare their results against other participants; to allow filtering of results by age group, using date of birth provided at time of result submission; to allow filtering of results by gender group, using gender provided at time of result submission; and to foster community and engagement among virtual race participants.
YOUR CONSENT
By actively submitting your race result on the Virtual Race Recap page at chalktalksports.com, you explicitly consent to your name and race performance data being displayed publicly on the Virtual Race Recap page; your date of birth being stored and used to calculate age group filtering on the Virtual Race Recap page; and your gender being stored and used to power gender group filtering on the Virtual Race Recap page.
Purchase and account information collected at the time of race registration is not publicly displayed and is governed separately by the ChalkTalk SPORTS Terms and Conditions of Use. If you do not wish for your submitted result and name to be displayed publicly, do not submit your result via the Virtual Race Recap page, or contact support@chalktalksports.com to request removal of your results from public display.
DATA WE DO NOT SHARE
The following data is never displayed publicly or shared with third parties in connection with the Virtual Race Recap page: email address; mailing address; payment information; and any other personally identifiable information beyond name, date of birth, and gender as described above. ChalkTalk SPORTS will not re-market or sell your email address or name under any circumstances, consistent with the terms of your race registration agreement.
APPLICABLE LAW
This disclosure is provided in accordance with applicable privacy regulations including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR, Regulation (EU) 2016/679, Article 6) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA, Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.100 et seq.). Your use of the Virtual Race Recap page and participation in Gone For A Run Virtual Races is governed by the laws of the State of Connecticut, USA, consistent with the Terms and Conditions of Use applicable to all ChalkTalk SPORTS websites. Jurisdiction over any dispute arising from this disclosure shall be in the state or federal courts located in Fairfield County, Connecticut.
