The Akida H. Jordan Perseverance 5K Walk/Run for Cancer Awareness is one of Tau Lambda Lambda’s signature fundraisers dedicated to helping Calvert, Charles, and St. Mary’s counties bring awareness to cancer.

Whether you’re chasing a personal best, run-walking your first 5K, pushing a stroller, walking every mile, or simply proving to yourself that you can do hard things—this race is for you. This Is My Run, Not Yours™ was created to celebrate every pace and every journey. There are no finish-line cutoffs, no comparisons, and no pressure to keep up with anyone else. Your only goal is to cross your finish line. Complete your race anytime during October 1–31, 2026, or join the community during our Official Race Weekend on October 3–4 for a shared celebration. Be part of the 2026 #DiversityinGI Virtual 5K to benefit the ACG Summer Scholars mentorship program! The College invites ACG members to register and get outside, run, or walk, and share their enthusiasm on social media using #DiversityinGI to celebrate diversity, inclusion, and community in GI and medicine in the weeks leading up to and during the ACG 2026 Annual Scientific Meeting. Benefiting ACG’s Summer Scholars Program The Summer Scholars program is an 8- to 10-week clinical research experience for U.S. medical students from groups underrepresented in medicine. Students are paired with research mentors who share similar clinical research interests in GI and hepatology. ACG thanks RedHill Biopharma for sponsoring the 2026 event!
